I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:15, NIV).
Some days we just have to sit with a blank canvas. Today I won’t be sharing a devotion, but rather just asking you to sit quietly with Jesus. As I searched for the words to share, I realized it’s something my heart needs after a busy week.
Grab a blank sheet of paper and a pencil. Grab a color pencil and a piece of construction paper. Get some paint and a blank canvas. Sit with a brand new prayer journal.
Life is full. Activities, ball games, recitals, job interviews, house showings, coffee dates, and more. It’s a never-ending rollercoaster of busyness that can threaten to leave us feeling like we’re spinning out of control.
Take time today to spend at least 15 minutes with a blank canvas, and see how Jesus speaks to your heart. Remember what Jesus says in John 15:15: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Spend time journaling. Create through art. Turn on music and worship. Take a walk. Go for a drive. Watch the sunrise or sunset.
No matter what you’re going through, may we choose to intentionally pause, breath, and remember that God is, and always will be, on the throne.
